Configuring Dial-Up Networking

Adding a new Dial-Up Phone Number

1. Double click on the My Computer icon
2. Double click on the Dial-Up Networking icon
3. Double click on the Make New Connection icon
4. Type in damerica
5. Click on Next
6. Type in the Area Code and Dial-Up Number for Digital America.

7. Click on Next, and Finish

Configuring the Dial-Up Phone Number

1. Right click on the icon you created
2. Click on Properties
3. Click on Server Type
4. Change the settings as follows, then click on OK
5. If you have more than one provider and want to use separate IP information, click on TCP/IP Settings and enter in the specific IP and DNS addresses. You can use this if one provider has an given an assigned address and the other a dynamically assigned one. Or if you want separate DNS address for each provider.

Dialing In

1. Double click on the icon you created
2. Enter your Login Name (all lower case) - Ex.: smith
3. Enter your Password
4. Click on Save Password
Note: If your Save Password box is grayed out, you did not install Client for Microsoft Networks as part of your network setup.
5. Click on Connect
